How is Korean severance pay calculated?
Severance = (Average Daily Wage × 30) × (Total Days Worked ÷ 365). The average daily wage is calculated by dividing the total salary for the last 3 months by 90 days.
Who is eligible for severance pay in Korea?
Employees who have worked continuously for at least 1 year and averaged 15 or more hours per week are entitled to severance pay under Korean labor law. Those with less than 1 year of service are not eligible.
